A New Way to Think About Nonprofits

Ranked one of the 100 most persuasive Ted Talks of all time, activist and fundraiser Dan Pallotta’s 18-minute TED Talk "The Way We Think About Charity is Dead Wrong" is a must-watch.

“Dan Pallotta calls out the double standard that drives our broken relationship to charities. Too many nonprofits, he says, are rewarded for how little they spend -- not for what they get done. Instead of equating frugality with morality, he asks us to start rewarding charities for their big goals and big accomplishments (even if that comes with big expenses). In this bold talk, he says: Let's change the way we think about changing the world.”

Join us on Thursday November 14 to view this inspiring TED Talk, followed by a panel discussion from several Westchester nonprofit leaders and past grantees, and how Impact100 members can help be part of this change. Bring friends!

Our Panelists include:

Jirandy Martinez, Executive Director, Community Resource Center

Jonathan Alvarez, President and CEO, 914 United

Lori Stephens, Executive Director, G.O.O.D. for Girls

Jan Fisher, Executive Director, Nonprofit Westchester

Whether you work for a nonprofit, sit on a nonprofit board, do business with nonprofits, donate to nonprofits, or simply hear about them, this talk is for you.
