2022 Grant Cycle Executive Board
The Executive Board is the senior leadership team of Impact100 Westchester, responsible for setting overall policy and for overseeing all activities of the organization.Danielle DeMaio, Co-President
Born and raised in Edgemont, Danielle returned to her hometown in 2012 with her husband and two young sons in tow. Since then, she has been an active volunteer in the PTA, a member of the School Board Nominating Committee, a member of the Board of the Edgemont School Foundation, and a Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador. Danielle’s interest in philanthropy began many years ago when she volunteered as a mentor to an at-risk high school student with Student Sponsor Partners. Danielle started her professional career in management consulting with Price Waterhouse and moved on to Investment Banking with DLJ and Credit Suisse after earning an MBA from Columbia Business School. She also holds a BS in Policy Analysis from Cornell University.
Laura Stone, Co-President
Laura started her career in the clothing industry as Production Manager for Adrienne Vittadini and Ellen Tracy. She later transitioned to leasing commercial real estate in Westchester County, where she grew up. Laura is passionate about giving back, volunteering at My Sisters Place on behalf of victims of domestic violence as well as serving on the Board of The Sharing Shelf. She also serves on the Executive Board at Metropolis Country Club where she is an active golf and tennis player. Laura earned her BA from Hamilton College. She and her husband live in Rye Brook with their dog Rocky and have three grown sons.
Deborah Silverman, Nonprofit Relations
Deborah worked as a financial analyst in the structured finance area for 27 years. She is currently a Partner at Just Share Hope Advisors. A graduate of the 2013 Leadership Westchester program, she is actively involved in a variety of volunteer activities and organizations, including Play For Pink, Feeding Westchester, a mentor for Year Up, and President and Board member of the Blind Brook Enrichment Program. She has had various roles at Impact100 Westchester including Finance Committee, Technology, Membership and Nonprofit Relations. Deborah is a resident of Rye Brook for the last 30 years where she raised her two boys now each married to their high school sweethearts. She enjoys golf, tennis, and traveling.
Caryl Hahn, Membership Liaison
Caryl Is a long-time Westchester resident. Born and raised in Ossining, she moved to Armonk where she raised her family. She spent 25 years in advertising, working on clients such as American Express, Lever Brothers and Ocean Spray Cranberries. She moved to the client-side of advertising as the VP of Global Media at MasterCard International. Upon leaving the corporate world, Caryl started volunteering at Hope’s Door she was introduced to Furniture Sharehouse. She was so inspired by their work that she became a volunteer and ultimately a member of the board of directors. It was at Furniture Sharehouse where Caryl got introduced to Impact100 Westchester. Caryl is a graduate of Leadership Westchester Class of 2020. Caryl loves to travel, read, walk her dog and spend time with her husband and adult children. She’s a skier, a quilter and a knitter.
Cathy Harary, Secretary
Cathy holds a BA in English from Penn and an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern. She is a long-time volunteer with, and current president of, Scarsdale Meals on Wheels, and serves as a writing mentor for a pre-college scholars program in NJ. Cathy lives in Edgemont, where she and her husband, Joel, raised their two children. In her free time, Cathy enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Melinda Ganeles, Treasurer
Melinda has been a resident of Armonk for the past 24 years. A mother of four children, Melinda has dedicated much of her time to nonprofit organizations. She co-founded the Castleford Rovers Soccer Club (past President, Coach and Board Member) and the nationally recognized NY Soccer Club (current Board Member and Secretary). She was President of North Greenwich Nursery where she also volunteered as the Spanish teacher for 17 years. Melinda is the Co-chair of The Wall Street Challenge—a renowned fundraiser dedicated to raising funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance. Melinda is an original member of Impact100 where she served as Finance Co-chair for three years before taking on the Treasurer role. Prior to her nonprofit roles, Melinda was an investor relations consultant for the The Carson Group covering the oil industry. Melinda holds a BS from Cornell University and a MA from New York University. When not volunteering or taking care of her children, Melinda enjoys playing recreational ice hockey, soccer, spinning, running, reading and traveling with family and close friends.Roberta Shapiro, Technology
Roberta is a real estate professional and a CPA. She manages information technology to support real estate appraisals and generate market reports on sales trends in the nation’s most desirable zip codes. A long-time Edgemont community volunteer, she has served on the Edgemont School Foundation and PTA, and led the Fort Hill Civic Association. Roberta earned a BS in Finance from The Wharton School at Penn and graduate degrees from Columbia and Fordham Universities. She and her husband Mark live in White Plains and have three grown children. Roberta enjoys playing piano, improving her new home, using technology creatively, and spending time with friends.
